Overview
The Vinifera, Nyah and Burra Creek restoration projects were referred to the Victorian Murray Floodplain Restoration Project Standing Inquiry and Advisory Committee on 25 January 2023.
The Vinifera, Nyah and Burra Creek Floodplain Restoration Projects aim to return a more natural flooding regime of high ecological value to 350 hectares (ha), 488 ha and 403 ha respectively.
The works proposed for these projects will include construction of:
- channels
- regulators
- containment banks
- drop structures
- spillways
- access tracks and realignments/upgrades to existing access tracks
- borrow pit sites to supply fill material to support construction.
The committee is asked to advise the Minister for Planning on the environmental effects of the three projects.
