Overview
The Fishermans Bend Framework was endorsed by Government in 2018. It includes a public commitment to prepare a comprehensive infrastructure plan and funding strategy for the Fishermans Bend Urban Renewal Area, using a range of funding sources.
Government has endorsed an approach to funding essential infrastructure required to support the urban renewal of Fishermans Bend, which has been released for public consultation. This includes the Draft Fishermans Bend Urban Renewal Area Development Contributions Plan (the DCP) and the introduction of an Open Space Uplift development incentive mechanism (the OSU).
Draft Planning Scheme Amendment GC224 has also been prepared to implement the approach in Melbourne and Port Phillip Planning Schemes.
The Precincts division of the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP Precincts) received 62 submissions in response to the exhibited documents. The Minister for Planning has referred all submissions to the Precincts Standing Advisory Committee.
