A unique opportunity to shape Victoria’s future planning decisions!

Planning Panels Victoria is seeking a highly experienced Senior Panel Member to join its team on a full-time, five-year contract. This Minister-appointed role is central to Victoria’s independent planning process, ensuring public participation and expert assessment of planning scheme amendments, environment effects statements, and major development proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead public hearings on complex planning and environmental matters
  • Assess submissions, expert evidence, and legal or planning arguments
  • Prepare clear, well-reasoned advice and recommendations to assist decision-makers
  • Engage with councils, government agencies, industry professionals, and the community
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of Victoria’s planning review processes

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold a qualification in planning, law, engineering, or a related field
  • Have extensive knowledge of land use planning and the Planning and Environment Act 1987
  • Be an excellent communicator and decision-maker with strong analytical skills
  • Have experience managing complex and sometimes conflicting planning issues
